“I and my little brother may have been one of the first students of Professor Dollar Academy at the very young ages of around 6 and 3. I remember that “Mrs. Dorothy”, as we called her, presented the concepts of saving in a fun and easy enough way for my brother and I to understand at that tender young age. We both had colorful piggy banks with labeled compartments that showed us visually and interactively the importance of and difference between long and short term savings. Today, at 26, I am still very thoughtful with my spending, saving, and investments. I and my brother continue to educate ourselves through books and other materials about finances. Though we are both at the beginning stages our careers, we have often found ourselves way ahead of our peers regarding financial decisions we’ve made and financial pitfalls we’ve avoided. I believe if we had not had this early education, we may not have benefited from such a high level of financial awareness today."
